Making recognition a routine
- Recognition is one of the best ways to improve employee engagement. It shows that you're paying attention and demonstrates an appreciation for their efforts. So how can you make recognition a part of your daily routine? Start by being generous and sharing your appreciation freely rather than reserving it as a type of reward. This would turn it into a type of extrinsic motivator and can be viewed as manipulative. Instead, celebrate small victories and strong efforts as well as positive end results and lean into your relationships with your employees to tailor that recognition to the individual. This is another opportunity to implement what I shared with you earlier about platinum service. Remember, it's treating them as your number one priority.
